Kirjoitettu kappaleen Pimeyden tango innoittamana

My skin is whiter than snow and equally cold, my hearth does not beat and blood doesn’t flow in my veins. I know I am a creature of the grave, a terror of man.
But still I let out a sad small sigh when I watch the horizon again. There the green glow tells us that the sun is about to start its divine journey.
The same glow tells me that it’s time for me to go to sleep and time for me to embrace the darkness once again.
I laugh haplessly at the irony of the thought.
I cannot sleep. Sleeping is for humans.
Vaihtuu päivä yöksi kaupungin
Sen tumman soiton kutsuhuudon kuulen minäkin
tahdissa tuon sävelen,
ovestani ulos kävelen
Vaan ei pimeys jää yksin rappukäytävään
Se tarttuu takinliepeeseen kuin vanhaan ystävään
Mua seuraa valoihin
ulos kapakoihin, ilotaloihin
I stand up and gaze at the ground. At this height I can see very well. I can see how the streetlights fade as dawn arises.
I can see the early workers and late drunks who are going to who knows where.
I on the other hand leap down as smoothly and silently as a cat. I don’t bother to cover myself.
Nobody trusts the word of others in this part of town.
Kuulin kauniin soiton valojen luota etsin sua
kuljin valoja päin, mutta ne väistivät mua
soitto hiljeni, ihmisten luotani lähtevän näin
yksin pimeyden tangoa tanssimaan jäin
Light fills the skies but it cannot reach me in my dark hideout. We vampires cannot stand divine light.
It scorches our soul and our body until there is nothing left but ash, if even that.
I have often wondered the reason for that and I think that god cannot stand looking at us.
Or perhaps we cannot stand god looking at us. These thoughts are new to me.
Before my death I did not care for matters of faith or philosophy.
Maybe I wouldn’t be like this now if I even once did the right thing.
Taas vaihtuu päivä yöksi kaupungin
jälleen helmoistani löydän tuon synkän kaverin
kuin uhriansa ainoaa
mua seuraa, mua vainoaa
My only window is covered with a thick curtain. Light barely passes through it but it does not bother me.
I am supposed to live in the darkness. It is my home and my sanctuary.
Still my soul yearns for light and despite the danger I lift the curtain and peek out with my sunglasses on to a different world.
I feel the agony and sorrow of loss when I see your golden hair shining like the summer sun.
You are there on the other side of the river and live in light.
When you smile you make others smile. When I smile others are frightened from my fangs and run in terror.
I am a shadow in the darkness, a ghost who stalks the night. I steal life in its ruby red form and I do not even regret it.
You would be afraid of me I think.
I cannot stand your glimmering gaze. I am too afraid of losing the fragile image.
I am too afraid of losing the light. I am too afraid of losing you to the darkness.
